Setting the standard in information security: GCI paves the way for trust and reliability.
Green Commute Initiative (GCI) has clinched a significant triumph by securing ISO 27001 accreditation, becoming the pioneering cycle-to-work provider to earn this esteemed certification. ISO 27001 stands tall as a critical endorsement in fortifying defences against information security threats, encompassing cyber attacks and hacker incursions.
This acclaimed standard delineates the blueprint for an efficacious Information Security Management System, furnishing the policies and protocols requisite to shield organisations against vulnerabilities. It intricately encompasses risk controls indispensable for fortified IT security management, ensuring robust protective measures.
In the wake of recent security breaches afflicting renowned consumer brands and the imposing fines imposed by the Information Commissioner’s Office, organisations have heightened their vigilance towards potential security risks.
Katherine Stather, GCI's Operations Director, emphasised the paramount significance of ISO-27001 for GCI, underscoring their unwavering commitment to safeguarding customer data. "Obtaining ISO-27001 underscores our dedication and offers assurance to our expanding customer base, solidifying their trust in entrusting us with their sensitive information," expressed Stather.
Having achieved GDPR compliance in the previous year, GCI discerned a burgeoning demand from potential customers, seeking detailed insights into their security management processes. In the ongoing year, some clientele have explicitly mandated ISO 27001 certification in their contractual agreements.
Rob Howes, the Managing Director, highlighted the strategic impact of ISO 27001 in enhancing GCI's market position. "The attainment of ISO 27001 will unequivocally bolster our ability to secure more cycle-to-work orders, eliminating a significant sales barrier," Howes remarked. GCI, in its four-year trajectory, has evolved into one of the most esteemed cycle-to-work providers and aims to conclude 2020 as the trailblazing holder of ISO-27001 accreditation, yet another unique selling proposition setting them apart from competitors.
